It may happen that managers could be less qualified than their
subordinates; but actually thinking only in this way can muffle your
enthusiasm & dedication; therefore we have to look at it in a
different way:
1) Less qualified in a certain job task: Less qualified is a very open phrase; because yes the manager could be less qualified in a certain area/s (or let me say points of weakness) but certainly he/she has his/her own talents or other points of strengths.
2) Less qualified in Leading: I totally believe in the big difference between a LEADER & a MANAGER; so if my manager is disqualified for example in leading a team; then your role as a leader will be clear in making this harmony within the team, doing your best to make them see the vision,…etc & of course one of the big challenges here is to be a role model for your team by showing them how not to belittle from your manager; rather in making him involved in the latest stages of making decision. Because eventually: you’re gonna be the manager.
At the end; we have to admit that dealing with a less qualified manager than yourself may cause lots & lots of arguments & disputes; so the best way to handle this is to never follow this way of behavior that conveys an indirect message of intentionally making him/ her feel as inferior.
Also you have to accept this as a challenge in how will you deal with such types of managers.
